Yannick grew up near Marseille in France paddling in the creeks. At the age of 15, he came across a book by Paul Emile Victor and this was the beginning of a long journey which shaped his passions for the Far North. During his studies of geography and geomorphology, his passions for the Arctic World of glaciers, icebergs and bears grew and grew. He spent his first summer as a guide in Spitsbergen in 2009 after passing his French Certificates of kayak competence and guiding; today his seasons are shared between Greenland and Svalbard.
