Dog-sledding is a main form of transport and a way of life for locals in Spitsbergen - learn to drive the Inuit way with our local guides. Dog-sledding is also referred to as 'mushing' this comes from early French Canadian drivers who called 'marche' to spur on their dogs, English explorers misunderstood and thought that they were shouting 'mush' - hence 'mushing'
